The Meal of Champions

The Russians have a proverb: eat breakfast alone, share lunch with friends, and give dinner to your enemies. No other meal has been associated with so many beneficial properties. So if you can change just one thing in your diet, eat the right breakfast.

A Stety Balances You

Think about the fact that when you wake up, you haven’t eaten anything for at least 8 hours. Thus, the first meal helps to raise levels of sugar and other nutrients that have fallen during sleep.

It Makes You Lose Weight

If you skip breakfast because you think you’re saving calories, think again. When you stay hungry, your body slows down its metabolism in order to conserve energy. Therefore, by eating, you help your body activate its metabolism, which means you burn more calories. Research shows that people who eat breakfast are thinner than those who do not eat it, and that those who skipped the first meal of the day had four times the chance of becoming obese.

Researchers report that this is due to the fact that breakfast stabilizes blood sugar, which in turn controls appetite and energy levels.

They conferm that people who eat breakfast are less likely to feel hungry later, resulting in them eating less during the day.
