The Ideal Breakfast: Crêpes are thin, delicate French pancakes. A simple batter of flour, eggs, milk, and butter makes them. Unlike thicker pancakes, chefs cook crêpes lightly on a flat griddle or special crêpe pan, giving them a soft, slightly crispy texture. You can enjoy them sweet, filled with Nutella, fruit, jam, or whipped cream, or savory, with cheese, ham, spinach, or mushrooms. Originating in Brittany, France, crêpes have become a worldwide favorite for breakfast, dessert, or a light meal. People often fold or roll them and top them with powdered sugar, syrup, or fresh berries. Because they’re so easy to customize, crêpes make a delicious and elegant treat for any occasion.
