Larnaca Bus Services Resume after Strike Resolution

Larnaca Bus Services have returned to normal operation as of Saturday the 10th of August, following successful negotiations between trade unions and Cyprus Public Transport. The agreement, finalized on Friday, concludes nearly two weeks of service disruptions caused by industrial action.

The settlement guarantees two key improvements for workers: a compulsory one-hour rest period during shifts and immediate overtime compensation when exceeding their standard daily working hours. Under the collective labour agreement, employees’ regular workweek consists of 38 hours, equating to 7 hours and 36 minutes per day. Any work beyond these thresholds will now qualify for overtime pay from the first additional minute worked.

This resolution brings stability back to Larnaca’s public transportation system after the prolonged labor dispute.
