Cycling for All Ages
Cycling for all ages. The Pyrgos Aroma Park Herb Garden, in collaboration with the Cultural Club of Pyrgos “Andreas Nicolaou”, the Cultural Club of Parekklisia and the Limassol Cycling Club, organizes the Cycling Tour on 3rd November. This partnership aims to strengthen community connection through the love of cycling, health promotion and environmental protection. The event promises to attract cyclists of all ages and levels, on a route that will highlight the beauties of the area.
Cooperation between Organisations
Pyrgos Aroma Park and the two cultural clubs work closely with the Limassol Cycling Club to ensure a successful event. The Herb Garden, known for its educational activities focused on nature and ecology, sees the Cycling Tour as an opportunity to promote the connection between man and the environment. The Cultural Association of Pyrgos “Andreas Nikolaou”, with its long tradition of cultural and sports activities, and the Cultural Association of Parekklisia participate with zeal, inviting locals to take part in a celebration of sports and culture.
Objectives of the Cycling Tour
Cycling for all ages event has multiple objectives. Firstly, it encourages the participation of residents in an activity that promotes physical health and well-being. Through the cycling tour, the organisers seek to highlight the benefits of cycling both as an exercise and as a means of transportation. The streets of the area will be filled with cyclists who will enjoy nature and fresh air, whilst promoting ecological awareness.
The round also strengthens social cohesion. Participants, regardless of age or experience level,
have the opportunity to interact and get to know their neighbourhood and neighbouring communities better.
Finally, the organisers want to promote the culture and tradition of the communities through this event. Participants will have the opportunity to get to know better the local traditions and history of Pyrgos and Parekklisia, whilst the cycling route will pass through points of cultural interest.
The Route and Activities
The route of the Cycling Tour will start from the primary school of Parekklisia, located in the centre of the village. The route is designed to be accessible and enjoyable for cyclists of all levels. The route crosses the picturesque landscape of the area, passing through villages, vineyards and areas full of natural beauty. The finish line will take place at the same point, where participants will be able to relax and enjoy events and activities prepared by the organisers.
Participants will be able to stop at refuelling stations along the route, where water and snacks will be offered. These stations will help cyclists maintain their strength and stay hydrated. At the terminal point, the event will continue with a variety of activities, such as herbal exhibitions from the Herb Garden and traditional events from the cultural clubs.
The Importance of the Event for Communities
The 3rd of November Cycling Tour is an excellent example of cooperation between local bodies and organisations.
