The Arabis alpina, often historically misspelled as Arabis albina, is a resilient and decorative perennial wild flower. Botanists and gardeners commonly refer to it as the Alpine Rock Cress or Mountain Rock Cress. This species belongs to the Brassicaceae family, linking it to garden staples like cabbage and mustard. Its native range spans an impressive geographical area, from the mountainous regions of Europe and Asia to the highlands of East Africa and even parts of North America.<\/p>

Physical Characteristics and Appearance<\/h1>

This plant exhibits a low-growing, mat-forming habit. It typically reaches a height of 4 to 10 inches, but its spread can extend up to 20 inches wide, making it an excellent ground cover for rocky areas. The foliage forms a basal rosette at the base.
